Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. At around 7:00 AM, we will pick you up and transfer you to the port of Lake Titicaca. There, our local guide will meet us with a boat to begin our Lake Titicaca adventure. As we set off, the guide will provide insights about the lake, and soon we will reach the renowned floating islands of Los Uros. We will visit one of these islands, meet its residents, and learn about the customs of these highland communities who have lived here for years. After our visit, we will board the boat again and continue our journey to Taquile Island, which takes about three hours.
Taquile Island is known for its exquisite textiles. On arrival, you’ll see how locals craft traditional Andean garments such as ponchos, belts, and gloves, all made by hand. To reach the top of the island, we will walk along a scenic, gently sloping path with stunning views of the lake. Since the island is situated at over 3800 meters above sea level, we recommend taking your time and walking slowly. After approximately 45 minutes, we will arrive at the heart of Taquile, where you can rest and visit a small museum showcasing important aspects of Taquile life through photographs.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant near the plaza. Following lunch, you’ll have free time to explore the weaving workshops and take photos with the islanders. Later, we will descend to the pier and begin our return journey to Puno, arriving around 5:00 PM. We will spend the night at a hotel in Puno.
