CITY TOUR EN LA TARDE
At the agreed time, I will pick you up at your hotel at 1:00 pm to begin the city tour. A professional tour guide will provide you with detailed information about each place you will visit, always willing to answer questions and attend to the needs of visitors. One of the highlights is the main temple of the sun, known as "Qoricancha". We will also visit "Sacsayhuaman", which is identified as the head of a puma because the city of Cusco, in Inca times, was shaped like this animal, and this head corresponds to the location of Sacsayhuaman. Next, we will explore Qenqo, a temple dedicated to Mother Earth or Pachamama. We continue to Pucapucara, an ancient access control center to the sacred city of Cusco, and finally we arrive at Tambomachay, an Inca resting place and a temple dedicated to water. At the end of the tour, we will return to Cusco. Optionally and at no additional cost, you can attend the Typical Dance Theater, known as the Qosqo Center of Native Art. You can choose between being transferred to your hotel or staying in the charming Plaza de Armas in Cusco.
Day 2: DECEMBER 30 - SACRED VALLEY.
At 8:00 AM, you will be picked up at your hotel to begin the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will leave the city and cross the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park until you reach the Taray viewpoint, where you can admire the impressive Inca terraces and the current crop fields that surround the sacred Inca river, the 'Wilkamayuk'. At the Pisac Archaeological Park, you will also visit the colorful Pisac Artisan Market, where locals buy and sell everyday products. This market is an excellent place to purchase crafts and souvenirs. After some free time, the trip continues to the city of Urubamba, where you can enjoy a buffet lunch with a variety of dishes made with the best local ingredients. Then, you will arrive at Ollantaytambo, the last inhabited Inca city. This place evokes mythical stories of love and drama, such as the legend of the Inca general Ollantay, who, during his rebellion against the Inca royal army, fought for his love for Princess Cusi Coillor, known as "Beautiful Star". After some free time, at the agreed time, you will board the tourist train to the town of Aguas Calientes, also called the town of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will be met at the train station and transferred to the hotel of your choice. As an option, you can visit the town's thermal baths.
Day 3: DECEMBER 31 - Machu Picchu excursion and New Year's Eve dinner.
