- DAY 1 | CUSCO - WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES - CUSCO.
Día 1: Cusco - Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco.
Departure from Cusco towards Km. 104, where the walk begins. Immediately we will visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2250 meters above sea level). We continue the walk towards Wiñaywayna along the 1 day Inca Trail. Along the way, we will have beautiful views of the Urubamba River and the opportunity to observe different types of the orchid family. We will visit the archaeological center of Wiñaywayna, and after a box lunch, in the afternoon we continue the walk to Machu Picchu, which we will see from a distance from the Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol) on a beautiful afternoon before continuing to Machu Picchu (2400 meters above sea level). Guided tour of approximately 2 hours followed by free time. In the afternoon, we return to Cusco by train, finally transferring to the Hotel.

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, used by the Incas to reach Machu Picchu and today the most famous trail for tourists wishing to reach it on foot, is considered sacred. Along the way, you can see numerous archaeological sites such as Llaqtapata, Runkuraqhay and Wiñayhuayna before arriving at the sacred city of Machu Picchu.
Every February, the Inca Trail is closed for cleaning. In 2004, the Peruvian government established regulations limiting access to the Inca Trail to 500 people per day, of which only 150 are hikers; the rest are guides, cooks and porters. Trekking companies must have a specific annual license to operate on the Inca Trail and an office in Peru.
The Classic Inca Trail is the most popular and spaces book up quickly, so it is recommended to book months or even a year in advance before planning the rest of your trip to Peru. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, and during high season (June to October) spaces may sell out six months in advance.

- We offer the Expedition train to Ollantaytambo: if someone books a train ticket at the last minute, it is not guaranteed that they will be able to be on the same train as the rest of the group.
- If you want to change your train schedule or tickets, you will have to pay an additional fee for transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco and for the difference in train price.
