Overview
The Inca Trail through the tropical Inca jungle as a new tour proposed by us, contains cycling, rafting, canopy or cable descent, trekking, quite an adventure! Peru Travel provides an experimental trip that is an authentic way to connect adventure with nature. In order to get off the beaten path, move away from superficial tourist activities and embrace an immersive cultural environment. A once-in-a-lifetime physical, cultural and spiritual journey that will take you through the Inca Jungle Trek to the legendary Machu Picchu. Perfect for lovers of outdoor activities, because this experience includes cycling, rafting, canopy and hiking to Machu Picchu. Recently, authentic Inca routes, archaeological ruins and amazing views have been discovered that make this tour an unforgettable experience. Cycling and Trekking in the jungle for the first few days and your trip ends with a visit to the Inca city of Machu Picchu. Inka Trail Expeditions Peru recommends all travelers arrive in Cusco 1 or 2 days before the start of their adventure to feel comfortable with the altitude while exploring this fascinating historic city.

Day 1 | Cusco- Alfamayuc- Santa María (Cycling / Rafting).
At 6:00 am we will begin the trip with a transfer from your hotel to Alfamayuc. Our destination for the day will be the small town of Santa María which is 1,430 meters above sea level. On our way, we will see hills and snow-capped mountain peaks. We will have some opportunities to take some photos along the way. We will arrive in Alfamayuc then we will go on horseback, for a few hours by bicycle to Santa María. 3 – 4 hours of descent is stimulating and relaxing at the same time. When we arrive, we will have some free time to rest In the afternoon we will have the option of rafting until the afternoon in Santa María (rafting level III) You can explore the town at your leisure before dinner. You will stay overnight at a local hostel.

DAY 2 | Santa María – Santa Teresa (Trekking).
We start the day with a healthy breakfast, and then we will walk through the rainforest for a short period along the road before taking a trail through coffee and coca plantations, passing by farms who grow tropical fruits. After climbing for a while we will connect with the “tropical Inca trail”, an original Inca Trail. There are great views along this section as we descend some impressive Inca stairs while admiring the Vilcanota River canyon. Please note, this is very difficult for people with vertigo or fear of heights! There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. We will also have the opportunity to visit the local Coca Plantation. Because in Santa Teresa there is an option to do canopy, our group will be transported to the place where this activity is organized. This will take about 2 hours. After the canopy the group will board our bus to the town. Finally, when we arrive in Santa Teresa, we will be able to enjoy the hot springs, which is optional (not included in the price). We relax there until it's time for dinner. We will spend the night in a nice hostel located in Santa Teresa.

After breakfast, we will head to Lucmabamba, where we will begin to climb to reach the archaeological ruins of Llactapata and follow a large extension of the true Inca Trail. From this point you can see the Inca city of Machu Picchu. Then we will descend for 1 hour, to a beautiful waterfall, arriving at the Hydroelectric Plant. After lunch, we will continue towards the town of Machu Picchu and visit the Mandor waterfall. We will spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). At night you can take the opportunity to explore the town of Aguas Calientes.

- Day 4: Machu Picchu – Cusco excursion
DAY 3 | Machu Picchu – Cusco excursion.
We are going to have breakfast and then take the bus (8 am) to Machu Picchu. A walking tour of approximately 2 hours will be given by your guide and after this you can explore the mysterious city. If you have the energy you can also climb Huayna Picchu (2720 masl / 8890 feet)! (It takes about 45 minutes to reach the top). Optional visit at night to the hot springs: tickets at US$4. We will take the Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo and bus to Cusco. We will be in Cusco, approximately at midnight. You must make reservations to climb either mountain three months in advance for an additional cost. Space is limited to only 400 people per day. We also recommend giving them time to relax, meditate and rest while taking advantage of the magical and spiritual energies of this great wonder. Once you have finished enjoying Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train (Not included) back to Ollantaytambo and return in our private mobility to Cusco.
