NASCA LINES FULL DAY TOUR

Description

The famous Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru and were put on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1994. The high, arid plateau stretches more than 80 kilometers between the towns of Nazca and Palpa about 400 km south of Lima. Many experts believe the Nazca Lines were created by the Nazca culture between 400 and 650 AD and the figures range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks or orcas, llamas, and lizards.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Nazca and take you to the local airport from where you will fly over the Nazca Lines for about 35 minutes. You will see many figures on the ground: the whale, the astronaut, the hummingbird, the parrot as well as others which are open to interpretation of what they may symbolize. The cemetery of Chauchilla is next on the itinerary. It is located in the middle of the desert and has been damaged after years of looting, but fortunately, we can still find some of the mummies in the original tombs as well as in the small local museum. We will go back to Nazca in the afternoon.

Unforgettable experience. The guide, Santiago, is a professional from head to toe. Very attentive, very knowledgeable and a great person. The group of porters and cook have also been wonderful. They have looked after us very well, always with a smile and the cook is a spectacle. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this team to the next brave people who venture on the Inca Trail.
